The No Pants Subway Ride which Improv Everywhere began over a decade ago in New York City has now spread to include most major cities with subway transportation.
The event is free, but it does come with rules. Be prepared to stand outside in the cold for an hour getting organized before heading down into the subway tunnels to de-brief.
It’s all in good fun, though it’s getting a little big (literally) for its britches; so many people now do the Ride that you could be sharing a subway car with no one else but no-pantsers. Sure, it’s awkward at first—you remove your pants on the subway, silently, mid-ride—but that’s part of the deal.
Pro tip: Wear clean underwear and keep the jockstraps at home.
