Beach Bound: Rehoboth isn’t far, and it’s totally fabulous

Just across the Delaware Bay from Cape May lies another favorite Philly shore destination: Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. A solid two-hour drive south—sorry, urbanites, there really doesn’t seem to be a better way to get there than car—Rehoboth’s got a lot of the elements of the Jersey Shore Philadelphians love, plus a couple more. Namely: gorgeous pristine beaches and cute queers.

Often and lovingly dubbed Rehomo, the Delaware resort features a rich and welcoming community of gay and lesbian-owned businesses, LGBT-friendly beaches, and a location that draws queers and allies from Virginia, D.C., Philly and Maryland. The trio of Lewes, Dewey and Rehoboth) boasts some of the highest-quality water on the East Coast.
