Palm Springs club unites LGBTQ men through recreational, spiritual and community events

When you say “men and intimacy,” any number of images come to mind.

Go ahead. Say it. See what happens in your mind.

It’s a revealing mental exercise but for somebody like Barry Schoenfeld, the founder of the heart-centered men’s group, The California Community of Men (CalComMen), breaking down the misconceptions people, and even men themselves, may have about intimacy between their straight, gay, bisexual, trans and cisgender friends and associates, has proven to be downright life-altering.

“I think one of the biggest misconceptions out there about gay men is that whenever we get together it’s going to be a 24/7 sex orgy,” Schoenfeld says. “That, when you get two men, or three for sure, alone, there is going to be sex. And probably drugs and alcohol.”
