Great bar with class! Nice decor, spacious and comfortable sitting areas. The bartenders remember your name and your drinks. The drag queens are beautiful, very entertaining, friendly and often pose for pictures with the patrons.
Me and the girls decided to visit this gay club to get a break from the cheesy pickup lines and the attempts to buy us drinks and take us home from where we go usually. We had a great time here and it was amazing to go out with the girls just to enjoy each other's company and not be bothered by the guys. Great drag queen shows to
Friendly service. Cool space. Read that there are 70’s-themed cocktails. Would have liked to try one, but most bars don’t have menus and we didn’t know till later. Always support the drag community! Can’t say the acts were all that exciting, but that was just our experience....No one was on the dance floor.
I really liked it here. We came during a busy evening, but the patio still had a nice vibe and loved the views. Everyone there seemed to be having a good time. It was a fun atmosphere and a little less crazy than places on 6th street. I thought the drinks were expensive, but not out of the ordinary for a nice place in downtown Austin - and they were really good. Normally I think themes are kind of gimmicky, but for some reason I enjoyed the mustache theme .
Interesting internal structure with winding stairs leading to an open air roof/deck area. Bartenders know their craft and made great suggestions. The crowd was average early 20s to 40s, and everyone was generally quite nice. Anyplace that plays the original Ghostbusters (at least that's what was playing when I went) projected on a brick wall on the roof has my vote.
If you’re in the mood for a drink that will leave your upper lip tingling stop by this unpretentious downtown bar with rooftop patio. Mustache decor covers the place down to the very faces of the bartenders serving you drinks.
There's nothing pretentious about this friendly neighborhood gay bar! The bar staff is friendly, great jukebox, cute men (and boys) and fun atmosphere. Iron Bear is very involved in the LGBT community and hosts and variety of fundraisers and beer busts on a regular basis.
Well maybe I wasn't expecting anything that that bar is...I thought it would be the leather kinda bar... I mean bears are usually within that range.Well let me tell you... with the giant window with transparent glass you know that the eagle jockstrap night ain't happening here lolWent on a Monday, ok usual slow night anywhere... it was video game night. Great to meet geeks (I think geek are sexy but still... not in my leather bar) So basically it s a basic gay bar to me, period.
Amazing atmosphere, the dance floor was crazy colorful, and the people I met were super cool. They've got a seating area in the front and a cool patio in the back. There's no rules for the restroom, anyone can go into whatever restroom they want and not be judged which I thought was really sweet. Plus, for being such a packed place, it was really clean.
I love this club but there was this women that keeps moving me. I don't know what she was doing but she told me to onto block her way to the bar. I mean if you aren't bringing clean glasses then you shouldn't come and move me. Bartender can do their job just fine. That was just plain rude, learn some manners.
Great music awesome atmosphere the light-up dance for was seriously cool met some crazy interesting people didn't drink too much but the bartenders were alright definitely worth checking out. Patio was also very cool.
There's a lot of people that come through here. That being said, there's spots in this relatively smaller place that have plenty of space, so you can choose whether you'd like to be in the crowd or take a break. The music is always great.
Used to really like this place. Until I walked in and a particular bartender ignored me for a good 3-4 minutes. Not even sure why. I was standing directly in front of him. Other people approached the bar after me and he continued to serve them over and over before me. Finally moved on to a "less busy" bartender. ?
Good chill vibes. Casual drink coffee, beer, or wine hang out with friends or alone enjoy the atmosphere or people watching. Their espresso cocktails are great. I recommend the Long Island Iced Coffee.
Good coffee shop and place for drinks. Don't get the cigars here. Vastly overpriced. Go to Bobolo on 6th for your smokes. That being said... Might be the best happy hour downtown. $2 to $3 beers from 4 to 8.
I came during Halloween and they had on really loud music that was everything but relaxing. Not the quitest place to have coffee and conversation. We had to go outside to be able to chat. When you are sitting outside people solicit for money heavily.
this place was surprisingly nice! it's a pretty good size and the fact that parking in front of Auto Zone is free on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays is super convenient. will definitely be going to shows here often!
No. Parking. Absolutely none. I was looking forward to Rhett and Link's tour of Mythicality ever since the tickets *first* came out, but ended up not going at all. My parents couldn't manage to find a spot to park in that was close enough and didn't have any threat of towing, but just kind of gave up. Not cool, not okay, not good. If you're going to be hosting things like this with big events and such, you really need to have a better parking system otherwise it'll be too much of a hassle for others. Maybe I'm just being an irrational and upset kid/teen/person/whatever, but I was really happy to actually have something to look forward to in the middle of a school year other than clubs, homework, and studying. Hopefully others that did go had fun.
Great bands, but really hot and stuffy. Last band I saw there was Bleachers and people were sweating. A lot. Best part of venue is hardly any wait at the bar. The staff is pretty chill. Shady part of town, tho. Parking could be improved, too. Overall, I always have a good time.
This club is always a fun time and one of my favorite places to go dancing. I’ve been a few times on a Saturday night and the music, vibe and the drinks have always been great. I would recommend going to this places to end a night on sixth street, we came here with a group and loved it. We were served at the bar extremely quickly and the outside area is also large and fun!
Great place to finish off your night, they stop serving alcohol at 2am but let everyone stay and dance until 3am. Even after it closes you can still walk right out and get food at the food trucks and trailers right across the street. Would definitely recommend coming here with a group at the end of the night!
Always a great time here. Responsibly priced drinks with great music. Also great that it’s connected with Swan Dive in the back courtyard. Which is great if you want a different vibe for a moment and don’t want to leave and go to a new bar. However, I do wish they would start using glass instead of the hundreds of plastic cups.
I’ve been to cheer ups a dozen times and have never been disappointed. They have fun signature cocktails and Golden Tickets are where it’s at for me. One of the first few times I went they were having a Britney Spears costume contest and themed dance night, which my friend and I dressed up for, and we spent hours grinding and singing along with a group of five other “Britneys”. A few times later I went with a work group and there was some kind of DJ set accompanied by a category based attitude/dance/strut competition. Last time I went the same type of competition was going on but it turns out that a big group from a fashion show was having an after party there and the competition was lit. Needless to say I learned how...to...vogue...
