A New Gay Bar Promises Brunch and More in the Arts District

A new gay bar with food and a brunch plans to open in the Arts District in March. Eduardo Cordova, who openedĀ Santos Guisados Tacos & BeerĀ in Fremont East in February 2019, plans to openĀ The GardenĀ in the formerĀ Mingo Kitchen & LoungeĀ space on First Street with small bites, sharable dishes, and a cocktail menu. Once open, the bar plans to add on a weekend brunch that Cordova says, ā€œwill not just be a drag brunch as we are bringing a few layers of entertainment.ā€

Diners and drinkers enter through a garden patio before entering the main room with the bar. The non-smoking bar also plans to feature a wall with foliage, a water fountain, and flowers decorating one side.

Cordova created the first LGBT pool party on the Strip at the Luxor and an LGBT party, Closet Sundays, at rock-and-roll chef Kerry Simonā€™s former Cathouse at the resort, among his myriad credentials. He created Revolution Nights for the Light Group at the former Revolution Lounge at the Mirage, and owned his own LGBT marketing and consulting company.
