Drag Queen Shuga Cain’s Guide To Harlem, New York

Living in uptown Manhattan is sweet for RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Shuga Cain. “It’s a beautiful, vibrant community that’s super diverse, ” she says. “It feels like home, which is hard to find in New York City.” The Harlem-based drag queen will be representing her neighborhood, where the Bay Area-raised queen has lived for all eight years of her New York life, when the show’s eleventh season debuts on VH1 on Thursday, February 28. Before the premiere, Shuga shared some of her favorite neighborhood spots for the perfect day in Harlem, which, thanks to 125th Street’s stretch of accessories, makeup and clothing stories, Shuga calls a “drag queen’s dream.”
