Escape To Key West For A Mini Weekend Getaway

Don’t we South Floridians have it made to be able to call Key West part of our home. The gorgeous paradise island is part of South Florida’s Monroe County, which is a convenient four-hour drive south from Wilton Manors. And what’s more comforting to know is that the tropical oasis is just as gay friendly (if not more) as parts of its sister counties, Miami-Dade, Broward and West Palm.

In fact, Key West is one of Florida’s first well-known gay travel destinations. And although the gay establishments in the laidback town have dwindled since its flamboyant heydays in the 1980s and 1990s, the gay allure still exists. But before you check into your gay resort and immerse yourself in the relaxing vibe of the Key West’s atmosphere, enjoy your scenic drive with a few treasured stops along the way.
