Fall into fun this year in San Francisco

Hundreds of local artists, vendors, craftspeople and organizations line Castro Street (from 19th to Market), 18th Street (from Diamond to Noe) and Market Street (from Collingwood to Noe) for Sunday’s annual Castro Street Fair. (Note: The area will be closed to cars.) The fair features five entertainment areas, including a main stage with live music, a drag show, dancing and DJs. Admission is free, and the fair runs from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Photo: Lacy Atkins, The Chronicle

Any San Francisco local knows that the best season of the year is autumn. The chilly fog of summer has gone on vacation, and the warmer temperatures seem to draw people out into the streets for festivals and other can’t-miss events. Whether it’s chocolate or pumpkin, indie rock or bluegrass, rodeos or races, fall in the city offers something for every taste.
