The Greater Palm Springs Pride festival will join the parade downtown this year.
The Palm Springs City Council on Wednesday unanimously endorsed a plan to close Palm Canyon Drive between Baristo Road and Amado Road, allowing festival organizers to relocate events that were previously held at the Palm Springs Stadium.

The road would close at 11 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, and reopen at 3 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10.
Additional road closures would be held for the Pride Parade, which will be held on Nov. 9.
