Palm Springs Hotel Continues Boutique Resurgence

After eyeballing eight other locations to open a hotel, Alex Kirkwood saw something in North Palm Springs that separated it from the pack.

“We concluded that the north end would be to Palm Springs what West Hollywood is to LA,” says Kirkwood, who with Tom and Denise Adams will open The Palm Springs Hotel this fall on North Palm Canyon Drive.

Located next to Dickie O’Neal’s Pub, the 15-room boutique replaces the old Palm Grove Hotel with a completely new look and vibe.

“We wanted to invest in the resurgence of Palm Springs, specifically the new-century boutique vibe in the north end which compliments our industrial take on midcentury modern,” Kirkwood says.

While the look may be more retro, the suites are all equipped with today’s high-tech gadgets.
