Sometime in early to mid October, a familiar home for thousands of Chicago area gays will get a new look and a new name, when the real estate and assets of the legendary Hunter’s Nightclub in suburban Elk Grove Village will transfer to new ownership and management.
The new nightclub, PhoenixBar, has some big shoes to fill. For more than 30 years, Hunter’s has been the premier gay nightclub in the Chicago suburbs. Its central location at 1932 E. Higgins Road is only minutes from all of Chicagoland via I-90, and is only minutes from O’Hare.
