Hump! Film Festival – DC

Events in

April 3 - April 4

The HUMP! Film Festival in DC is not your average night at the movies. Created by Dan Savage in 2005, this touring festival has been redefining what porn can look like for nearly two decades. When HUMP! Film Festival comes to Washington, D.C., audiences are invited to experience something playful, personal, and unapologetically sex-positive.

Each screening features a curated selection of short films. Every movie runs under five minutes. These films don’t come from professional porn studios. Instead, the filmmakers are everyday people who wanted to get creative for a weekend. They decide what’s hot. What’s funny. What fantasy looks like on their own terms.

The result is a mix that feels wildly different from mainstream adult entertainment. Some films are sexy. Others are absurd. And others are genuinely moving. You’ll see work that makes you laugh out loud. You’ll see moments that surprise you. And yes, you’ll see films that turn you on.

At its core, HUMP! Film Festival is a celebration of creative sexual expression. It embraces a wide range of bodies, orientations, identities, and desires. Consent, humor, and imagination are central to the experience. Nothing is formulaic. Nothing is anonymous. Everything is intentionally human.

The festival’s mission goes beyond entertainment. HUMP! Film Festival aims to change how people think about porn itself. It challenges the notion that adult content needs to be polished, commercial, or stripped of real intimacy. Instead, it presents sex as something personal, expressive, and worthy of creativity.

The D.C. stop typically draws a diverse, curious crowd. Attendees come for different reasons. Some are longtime fans. Some are first-timers. Many come simply because they want to see something different.

If you’re open-minded, curious, and ready for a night that blends art, humor, and sexuality, HUMP! Film Festival delivers a viewing experience you won’t forget.
