Key West has inspired generations of writers, and the annual Key West Literary Seminar keeps that tradition alive. Each January, acclaimed authors and literary enthusiasts gather for readings, conversations, interviews, and the occasional spirited debate about the written word. The island’s rich literary history includes LGBTQ+ voices, and the seminar brings a diverse range of contemporary perspectives to the stage. It’s a chance to experience a more cerebral side of Key West, with plenty of opportunities to meet fellow book lovers between sessions. Think stimulating conversation by day and Duval Street distractions by night. Just don’t expect every story to have a happy ending.
