Times Square drops a ball. Key West drops a drag queen in a giant red high heel. The legendary Red Shoe Drop takes over Duval Street outside Bourbon St. Pub for a New Year’s Eve celebration packed with drag, music, glamour, and plenty of island attitude. For 25 years, Key West icon Sushi ruled the shoe. Today, a national drag competition called If the Shoe Fits crowns the Queen of New Year’s Eve, who makes the fabulous descent at midnight.
