What happens when thousands of LGBTQ+ athletes descend on Las Vegas? Five days of competition, camaraderie, and a whole lot of extracurricular activity. What started as a softball tournament in 2008 has grown into the Sin City Classic, the world’s largest annual LGBTQ+ sporting event, featuring everything from basketball and soccer to dodgeball, pickleball, and even bridge. But it’s about more than winning medals. Athletes from around the world come together to compete, celebrate, and connect in a welcoming environment where being yourself is part of the game. Add parties, nightlife, and plenty of opportunities for spectators to join the fun, and you’ve got one seriously gay sporting weekend. Just remember, what happens in Vegas might end up on the team group chat.
