Austin has always embraced the weird, but OUTsider Film & Arts Festival takes things a few steps further. This annual celebration of queer creativity brings together independent films, experimental performances, visual art, and artists who aren’t particularly interested in playing by the rules.
Expect provocative storytelling, unexpected collaborations, and work that challenges how we think about identity, sexuality, and community. OUTsider also creates opportunities for audiences to connect directly with the people making the art, making the experience more personal than your typical film festival.
It’s creative, occasionally outrageous, and unapologetically queer. In other words, Austin’s unofficial motto has some competition.
